ALL WALK LEADERS –
Firstly, thank you so much for agreeing to help us year. We really mean it when we say that we couldn’t do this without you, and we’re very much looking forward to seeing you all again. Walkers regularly express high praise for both their walk leaders and our other volunteers; comments on our feedback page say it all.
Latest booking figures
Available here (after booking goes live on March 15)
(Or use the shortcut: on the website homepage scroll down to the bottom left, and click on the word 2020.)
NOTE:
- These days we don’t differentiate between ‘leaders’ and ‘back-markers/first aiders’ so that you’re free to assign/swap roles as it suits you.
- Note that the website shows meeting times; the departure time will be 15 minutes after this.
- Risk assessment forms will be sent out in April. Please fill them in electronically and return them to us in the week before the festival.

Training
New to Walk Leading with us? Please have a look at our compehensive induction package – you’ll find it useful: Trefriw Walking Festival – walk leader training (.pdf)
For training opportunities leading to qualifications (First Aid, Walk Leader, etc.), go to our training page.
Future notes to be added nearer the time:
* We are back in the Village Hall this year! When you arrive, please report to reception (and get a cuppa, if you’d like). Similarly, on your return, please inform reception that you’re back.
* Most of the committee are again walk leading this year. Please know, however, that there is a warm welcome from us all, even if we can’t actually catch up with you in person because we’ve already left with a group, etc. The only committee member at base at all times will be Kim, who’ll mostly be overseeing registration, etc. this year. There’ll be other helpers around, of course, helping with meeting and greeting and refreshments.
* The time given on the website is the meet time. The departure time is scheduled for 15 minutes after this.
* Before you leave on your walk, you’ll be given your ‘info pack’ by reception. This will contain the number and names of your walkers (remember to check for any medical issues), your risk assessment form, an accident form, emergency numbers, and minibus arrangements (if applicable). Please return this pack to us after the walk.
* Please remember to take photos of your walkers in scenic locations! We increasingly use photos in our social media promotion, so please email your pics to us. They don’t need to be high resolution for our purposes, but if they are, you can use www.wetransfer.com, which allows the sending of up to 2GB at a time.
* If you have any travel expenses, etc., and wish to claim for these, you can download a claim form above. Please hand it in to us on the day.
* Thanks for leading for us this year! See you there, and have a great walk!
