Hike and Wild Swim

Two groups of up to 10 people will enjoy a walk and a wild swim in the calm waters of a secluded lake.
The walkers will be accompanied by two of our walk leaders, and the swim will be overseen by Ffit Conwy Instructors / Lifeguards.
Having divided into two roughly equal groups – The first group will walk up from Trefriw, arriving at the remote lake for lunch. After a leisurely swim and a hot drink, you’ll walk down to Hafna mine where the minibus will return you to Trefriw – and cake.
The second group will take the minibus up to Hafna mine, and then walk up to the lake. After a relaxing dip, you’ll have lunch with the first group, and then hike back down to Trefriw
The speed and distance you swim is up to you but this is for experienced open / cold water swimmers only. Please bring your swim gear, changing robes or towels and your wet suit if you use one.
A warm drink and snacks/food for after your swim is a must.
Duration: All day. Please bring a packed lunch. A flask of hot chocolate would be a great addition.
Distance: 5 mi / 8 km for the walk
Grade: Moderate
This walk has some steep and uneven paths and tracks which may be wet and slippery underfoot. Please dress for the weather and have suitable footwear.
Transport: Minibus one-way, either out, or back.
Departure time: 09:30 a.m. from Trefriw Village Hall (LL27 0JH, SH781631) Please arrive 20 minutes before your walk departs.
Refreshments will be available in the Hall both before and after your walk. (See ‘our cafe’.)
