The Grey Mare’s Tail
Join us for a local walk from the village, calling in at the Grey Mare’s Tail, a splendid waterfall a couple of miles away. This waterfall also provides water for the fountains at Gwydir Castle, via a leat at the top, and it was Lady Willoughby of Gwydir who gave it its name. We will then head on past Gwydir to the meadows at Llanrwst, returning to Trefriw alongside the river Conwy.
We’ll be back in time for our now-legendary Cake Fest at 4 p.m.!
Duration: All day. Please bring a packed lunch.
Distance: About 6 miles / 9.5 km
Grade: Moderate, but leisurely
Meet: 10:15 a.m. at Trefriw Village Hall (LL27 0JH, SH781631)
Tea and cake will be available in the Hall both before and after your walk.
Walk Leaders: Clive Noble and Jo Noble
