Blue Water and Grey Wings
Lakes, Woods, and Moorland Tickets: £12
This gorgeous walk (walking out from Trefriw and back) takes in a variety of scenery – hillsides, lakes, woodland, forestry and open moorland – between Trefriw and Capel Curig. We’ll be passing Llyn Geirionydd on the way out (where there are toilets) and at our furthest point (see the picture above) we’ll hopefully have great views of Moel Siabod, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and the Snowdon Horseshoe. We’ll return on the moorland below Crimpiau, eventually descending from the col to scenic Llyn Crafnant, then back to Trefriw, never far from the river Crafnant. This is cuckoo country (that’s the “grey wings”), so we’ll be very surprised if you don’t hear the cuckoo on numerous occasions during the walk.

Duration: All day. Please bring a packed lunch.
Distance: 11½ miles / 18 km approximately
Grade: Moderate, leisurely, but fairly long
This walk has some steep and uneven paths and tracks which may be wet and slippery underfoot. There may be longer periods of ascent, and you may find poles useful. Please dress for the weather and have suitable footwear.
Departure time: 08:45 a.m. from Trefriw Village Hall(LL27 0JH, SH781631) Please arrive 20 minutes before your walk departs.
Refreshments will be available in the Hall after your walk. (See ‘our cafe’.) Please stay and socialise!
