Hot Rocks and Megaliths – 2020

Sunday 17th May, 2020

Hot Rocks and Megaliths

This is a traverse across deep time on the northern edge of the National Park.  We’ll be travelling by minibus to Bwlch y Ddeufaen, in the Carneddau foothills above Rowen, then walking on good track, open moorland and 1/4 bog-crossing (no snorkelling!).  Walking poles and waterproof boots a must!

We’ll return on the minibus, and be back in time for our now-legendary Cake Fest at 4 p.m.!

Please remember that it can be cold in the foothils of the Carneddau mountains, even in May, so make sure you’ve got warm, waterproof clothing, and good footwear.

Duration:  All day.  Please bring a packed lunch.

Distance:  About 6 miles / 10 km

Grade:  Moderate, but leisurely

Meet:  9:00 a.m. at Trefriw Village Hall (LL27 0JH, SH781631)
Tea and cake will be available in the Hall both before and after your walk.

Walk Leaders:  Ken Brassil (the “charismatic and brilliant”* former Education Officer at San Fagans) and Bernard Owen
