Ten Lakes
Back by popular demand, this is our longest walk – a full day from Trefriw into the Gwydir Forest, visiting 10 of the area’s hidden lakes.
Starting and finishing with the largest and best-known lakes in the area – Geirionydd and Crafnant – this long round from Trefriw will visit a total of 10 lakes in the Gwydir Forest, many with history linked to local metal-mining. Much of the walk is in the upper, elevated part of the forest, offering excellent views of the mountains, The pace will be easy, and uses a lot of good forest tracks, but is rated as moderate/strenuous simply by virtue of its length. We will be passing toilets at 2½ miles, 10½ miles and 12½ miles.
Duration: All day 7-8 hrs walking. Please bring a packed lunch.
Distance: 24 km / 15 miles
Grade: Moderate/strenuous
