A Tale of Two Cobs – 23

A Tale of Two Cobs

Most of our walks are on the Trefriw side of the river Conwy, but here’s a chance to also walk on the other side!

The river Conwy has flood defence cobs on both sides of it, which make for beautiful (and fairly flat!) riverside walking. Our minibus will initially take us out to Maenan, across the valley from Trefriw, from where we’ll walk the 2-mile length of the northern riverside cob to Tan Lan. We’ll then take the back lanes into Llanrwst (the middle 2 miles – the only bit where there’s any ascent & descent involved) – and walk along the riverside path to our lunch stop by Pont Fawr, Llanrwst’s famous bridge. Afterwards we’ll return on the riverside path to Gower’s suspension bridge, to then walk back to Trefriw on the southern riverside cob.

In all, there’ll be plenty of easy, scenic riverside walking, and more often than not there’s plenty of birdlife to be seen on and near the river too.
