PAWS – Plantations on Ancient Woodland Sites

A steep walk up past Aberllyn Lead Mine and through part of the Gwydyr Forest Mines SSSI, looking at some work NRW have done over the winter to improve the structure and species diversity of the woodland for wildlife. An opportunity to look for spring wildflowers, listen to birdsong, and discuss NRW’s plans for PAWS (Plantation on an Ancient Woodland Site) restoration in Gwydyr Forest

Duration:  Half day

Distance:  1.5 Miles / 2.5 km  

Grade:  Moderate (Steep in places, reasonable level of fitness required)

Departure time:  10.00 a.m. from Trefriw Village Hall (LL27 0JH, SH781631)

Note : This walk will use Car Share to Cwmlanerch
Please make sure you register at the village hall above first.

Refreshments will be available in the Hall both before and after your walk. (See ‘our cafe’.)  Please stay and socialise!
