Navigation and Knots
Meet at the Village Hall at 8.30am for a brief introduction to navigation skills. Leave the Hall at 9.00, and walk up to Llyn Geirionydd, over the hill, through the forest, and down to Llyn Crafnant. Along the way the participants will get to practice their new found navigation skills. After a break for lunch at Crafnant, there will be a short demonstration on basic rope work appropriate for mountain walkers. Return to Trefriw via the old mine workings at Klondyke in time for the Cake Fest.
Participants will require the OS 1:25000 OL17 map of the area, and a compass,

Please note that there is a Half Marathon running on the morning of the 22nd which is partially routed through Trefriw. Local roads may be closed from 8 am, and although vehicle access will be available to Walking Festival Participants, you are advised to allow extra time for your journey.
