Old Tramways in the Carneddau foothills
We will initially be travelling by minibus up the steep hill from Trefriw to the Cowlyd Valley. From there we will walk for 1.5 miles over the spur of Moel Eilio to remote Cwm Eigiau, to then leisurely walk the length of the Eigiau Tramway and the Cowlyd Tramway (a total of 4.5 miles), back to our start point. We will then return to Trefriw on foot on the lane.
There will be plenty of local history regarding these tramways and the dams they served.
