Trefriw Walking Festival 2020 May 15th – 17th
This year’s ambitious Trefriw Walking Festival ranges from the Carneddau to the Glyderau. There is something for everyone; tough walks high up in the mountains, forests and lakes, environmental art, mindfulness, history and geology.
Trefriw Walking Festival is organised solely by volunteers from the Trefriw Walkers are Welcome group and is Snowdonia’s most popular walking festival.
Based in the heart of the historic village of Trefriw on the edge of Snowdonia, the festival has trails for every level, from mountain ascents and scrambling to easier walks by lakes and rivers.
Each day has a something different to offer, from scrambling up on Bristly Ridge in the Glyderau to a gentle mindfulness experience. Discover the fascinating history of Cwmorthin in the Moelwynion, create Environmental art with your family, listen for birdsong in the early morning, learn some wildflower wisdom and enjoy one of the best views of Snowdonia from a local peak. As ever, all this exercise will build up an appetite for the now-famous Cake Fest on Sunday afternoon!
All our walks begin and end in Trefriw; the more remote ones using transport kindly provided by Plas y Brenin National Outdoor Centre. All are led by experienced walk leaders and accompanied by qualified First Aiders.
