A Wybrnant Wander 25

A Wybrnant Wander

This scenic walk will take us high above the Lledr Valley, where we will be treated to some stunning mountain views. On the way we will hike along an ancient drovers road and through upland farmland and woodland, returning to Dolwyddelan along the Afon Lledr and its dramatic gorge.
At the centre of our walk is the 16th Century farmhouse, Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant, the birthplace of Bishop William Morgan, whose work translating the Bible into Welsh helped ensure the survival of the language. We will be given a private tour of the house and hopefully a paned!
This is a moderate, all-day hike, with some steep sections early on. Sturdy waterproof hiking boots are a must as there will be very uneven, wet, muddy and slippery sections underfoot, as well as plenty of boggy terrain.

Duration:  All day.  Please bring a packed lunch, water and plenty of snacks

Distance:  7 Miles / 11km.  Please confirm Distance

Grade:  Moderate.  Please confirm grade (for guidance click on Walk gradings )

Please be aware that this is a rural area and that all our walks take us out into the countryside where some parts of paths and tracks will be uneven and sometimes wet and slippery underfoot; it isn’t like walking on pavements!

Departure time:  10.00 a.m. from Trefriw Village Hall (LL27 0JH, SH781631)
